About Dr. Maniam

Board Certified Pain Medicine
Board Certified Anesthesiology

Dr. Rajivan Maniam is a double-board certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine specialist. After receiving his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Dr. Maniam completed his anesthesiology residency at Columbia University Medical Center and his interventional pain medicine fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s hospital.

In addition to his extensive training in interventional pain procedures during fellowship, Dr. Maniam also received training in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and regenerative medicine through the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation. Functional Medicine is an approach that focuses on discovering the root cause of disease and tailoring a personalized treatment plan to treat the body as a whole. By integrating interventional pain medicine, regenerative medicine, and functional medicine, Dr. Maniam has helped countless patients improve their pain and quality of life, all without the use of opioids and unnecessary surgery.

Dr. Maniam is an innovative physician that strives to provide the most evidence based and cutting edge therapies for his patients. He is continuously engaged in research trials and teaching efforts and remains active in several national medical societies, including the Spine Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the North American Neuromodulation Society, the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation, and the Institute for Functional Medicine.

My goal is to provide relief and healing for a wide variety of musculoskeletal, joint and spine conditions, often saving patients from needing to engage in costly surgeries with a long recovery.

"I always read reviews but rarely post my own. I have been seeing this Dr for over a year now. I have 6 herniated discs since 2017. He has been amazing at treating me with epidurals and putting me to sleep as I can’t handle the pain when awake. Nothing has worked better. Not OT PT a chiropractor etc. I was recently in a car accident and now have a fracture in my spine and although the injections no longer work I have complete faith that he will continue to work with me better than any other Dr or spine specialist I have been to"

"I am not one to usually write a review but considering that Dr. Maniam was able to help with my chronic wrist pain that I had for almost a year I felt the need to let people know what a great doctor he is. I had tried to see a doctor previously but it did not help at all. When I saw Dr. Maniam he took the time to listen to what was wrong and made all the correct suggestions. I am so happy to say that I no longer feel any pain and am so grateful to him for all his help. If you have any type of chronic pain I would suggest going to see this wonderful doctor!"
