About Dr. Rieber

Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgery

Michael Rieber, MD, is a skilled orthopedic surgeon with over 25 years of experience offering conservative and minimally-invasive orthopedic care for patients. Dr. Rieber always tries to find alternative treatments to surgery. When surgery is needed, he is proud to provide state-of-the-art arthroscopy and robotic surgery for knee, hip, and shoulder repair.

Dr. Rieber earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He went on to pursue further training through an orthopedic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center in Upstate New York. Dr. Rieber completed his sports medicine fellowship at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

In the early 2000s, Dr. Rieber realized there was a need for more surgical joint replacement treatments as he observed patients struggling to recover from broken hips. This insight led him to develop an institute that improves the overall experience of those who need a total joint replacement in the hospital. The changes recognized include pre-operative planning, better nurse-patient ratios, and a customized recovery experience.

Another patient-focused solution Dr. Rieber volunteered to implement was pioneering the breakthrough anesthetic drug Exparel during knee surgeries. The pain medication numbs the area where it was administered for up to three days, providing more comfort to the patient post-surgery. Dr. Rieber's patients claimed that their life had improved only a week after surgery because of greater mobility.

I chose orthopaedic surgery because there is something gratifying when someone comes in and they can’t walk, they can’t throw a ball, they can’t play sports, or they can’t do their job – then I have the skills, in a minimally-invasive way to get them back on the field or back to work and back to their families and enjoying life as they should…

"I had a neck shot done by Dr. Mann and a few days later I was very happy with my progress. I had no pain from the shot and I have not had a problem with my hand. All of the tingling and burning sensations were gone. I want to thank Dr. Mann for helping me with my hand. I got the best care from Garden State Medical Center and everyone was so nice!"

"Dr. Mann has been treating me for quite some time now and I am very thankful for that. Dr. Mann is an extremely intelligent doctor who is very thorough during my appointments. He always looks for the best ways to treat me and he has greatly reduced the amount of pain I feel on a daily basis. His bedside manner is great, and I would highly recommend him to anyone!"

"From my first day’s visit to every following visit, my experience is an outstanding one. Everyone from the front desk staff to all the nursing staff and Dr. Mann have provided me a top notch service. My pain issues were listened to with care. I promptly received prescriptions for CT Scans X-rays. My follow ups were handled professionally. Very happy! They offer quite a wide variety of services at more than one office. I highly recommend this practice to everyone."
